Frontosa Ikola Lightning Blue….big Wild Caught colony!
I am planning to change my only display tank around in the lounge room, so my big, adult wild caught breeding colony of Ikola Blue Lightning Frontosa are now officially for sale. These are big and absolutely stunning fish. They have even won several photo/fish competitions and are actually quite well-known. I have had them for almost 4 years. 2 males and 7 females that range in size from about 180-300mm+ (there is a small chance, it could be 3m/6f, but either way the ratio is great and they are a peaceful colony).
A very established breeding colony that was originally imported by Brodie and Meng at Keysburough Aquarium in Melbourne.
The price for the colony is $2600, which is close to what I paid at 120-150mm more than 3 years ago. They are well-bonded regular breeders and each batch of fry is worth around $1500-2000, so you can quickly make your money back. These would be pick up only due to their size, so please don't ask me to ship them.
They will need at least a 6x2x2 tank, but ideally bigger.
I am only considering selling them as they are in my only big display tank and I am now looking at doing something different with that tank. I will keep my other 3 wild caught colonies of Frontosa, so I will continue to always have top quality f1 Frontosa fry available.
As always, the fish will be caught and ready for pick up when you arrive. The buyer will need to bring several big, suitable containers/eskies for transporting these stunners back in.
It's a sale I probably will regret and I am in no rush. Please call Jonas if you want to buy them. I can hold them for a few weeks with a 25% deposit.
The first photo is of a big male, the second is probably 2 years old, so they are much bigger now.
